SUPER COOLER INFORMATION

Cascade Mountain Tech offers Super Coolers in both 45 Quart & 80 Quart sizes. Each Super Cooler has a freezer-quality lid gasket and up to 3 inches of foam insulated walls to keep ice frozen for several days! With its ultra-tough rotomolded construction, our Super Coolers can withstand whatever you throw at them.


**Super Cooler equipped with a freezer quality lid gasket. If you experience difficulty opening a cooler with a tight seal, this is likely due to negative air pressure that has built up inside. Simply unscrew the drain plug near the bottom to release the air pressure and the lid should open with ease.

To help reduce negative pressure in the future, try gently wedging a small gap (about 0.5cm) between the ends of the rubber gasket located on the inside of the cooler lid**

How do I prechill my cooler?

For optimal temperature retention, we recommend that you pre-chill your cooler overnight in a cool place with bags of ice inside. If your cooler has been left in a warm location such as a vehicle, garage, or out in the sun, packing it without pre-chilling can lead to decreased performance. It is also recommended that you pre-chill cooler contents. Chilling or freezing beverages and food ahead of time will greatly increase ice retention.

My cooler lid is sealed closed. How do I open it?

Sometimes the rubber seal will create a very tight vacuum seal making it difficult to open the cooler. Simply twist open the drain plug on the side of your cooler to release the pressure and you should be able to open no problem. 

Can I use dry ice in my super cooler?

DRY ICE WARNING: REMOVE OR LOOSEN DRAIN PLUG WHEN USING DRY ICE. NEVER MIX DRY ICE AND WATER IN SEALED COOLER.Our cooler plastics are manufactured to withstand extremely cold temperatures, including temperatures reached by dry ice. Because our coolers are airtight though, dry ice use must be done with extreme caution. The sublimation of dry ice produces carbon dioxide gas, which if not vented properly could produce dangerous pressures. If using dry ice, you must ensure proper ventilation is provided, by loosening the drain plug, to prevent the buildup of carbon dioxide gas to a dangerous pressure. dry ice should never be mixed with water in a sealed cooler as it will lead to the rapid building of pressure. Use of dry ice should be done with the utmost caution and understanding, with proper personal protective equipment, and properly vented to prevent pressure buildup. When dry ice is used in our coolers, always keep the coolers outdoors or in a well-ventilated room. Use of dry ice in a confined space can lead to a buildup of carbon dioxide gas and present a suffocation hazard.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR COOLER:

For optimal temperature retention, we recommend that you pre-chill your cooler overnight in a cool place with multiple bags of ice inside. If your cooler has been left in a warm location such as a vehicle, garage, or out in the sun, packing it without pre-chilling will lead to decreased performance. We also recommend that you pre-chill cooler contents. Chilling or freezing beverages and food ahead of time will greatly increase ice retention. When loading your cooler add fresh bags of ice replacing the bags used for pre-chilling. 

*Able to retains ice when the ambient temperature is between 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit and lid remains closed.

**In order to comply with IGBC standards of bear-resistance, coolers MUST BE LOCKED with a padlock or bolt and nut of an appropriate length.
